Morning entry

I don’t really have all that much to say this morning. I’m just writing this to get warmed up for my day of work.

I learned something useful about myself yesterday. When I’m writing, I depend on (in fact, take for granted) having a completely silent house. Yesterday I was trying to write in the upstairs office while redacted pottered about downstairs, and it just wasn’t happening. For me (I learned) writing is kind of like going to sleep. You just have to relax and let it happen. If something distracts you, snaps you out of it, you have to get back into it before you can continue.

This is useful information to have.
