That song from this week’s ‘Scrubs’

Mary Katharine Ham wants to know what the song was that was featured in this week’s “Scrubs.”

It’s called “In the Sun,” and it’s by Joe Arthur. It’s on the album “Come to Where I’m From,” which inexplicably isn’t on iTunes. But the song’s available if you wanna buy the soundtrack to the TV show “The L Word.” There’s also a free MP3 of a live recording of the song on the artist’s Web site.

Great song, no question about it. But not the best use of music on a “Scrubs” episode. That has to go to the acoustic version of the Men At Work song “Overkill” that Colin Hay contributed a few years ago. There’s a version on Hay’s 2003 album “Man @ Work,” available on iTunes. There’s at least one other version floating around, a version with a more jangly guitar and mellower vocals, though I don’t know where to find it.
