More often than not, batteries actually are included

The other day, as I was doing and seeing in the District, I ran out of battery power in my cell phone, my iPod and my laptop all at the same time.

It got me all thinky about the modern world’s dependence on batteries. Batteries for our cars, batteries for our computers, batteries for our phones. Batteries for our pacemakers and insulin pumps and cochlear implants.

Want to get rich? Dedicate your life to finding a way to build a better battery. Smaller, denser, more powerful, more environmentally friendly, whatever. Find a way to dramatically improve the battery and you’ll be a zillionaire.
