Pamie Ribon has had something stolen off her Web site recently too. And she’s also pissed.
When will these people get it? When you take something from my site — or in this case, hers — and run it next to a whole shitload of advertising, you’re profiting from somebody else’s work.
People think writing is easy. Which is why we’re surrounded by crappy television shows, dismal books and atrocious Web sites. Not to mention movies that should, in a just world, be considered crimes against humanity. I’m looking at you, The Ring Two. But writing isn’t easy. It’s hard. It might take you three seconds to copy-and-paste some shit onto your MySpace or whatever. But the person you’re stealing from spent hours, days, maybe even years on it. There’s blood in those words, seeped in between the letters, and you’re stealing it, and selling it for a profit. And probably a pretty crappy profit at that.
I honestly don’t understand how anybody can do that and not feel like the most pathetic loser on the face of the Earth.

Perez Hilton is a scumbag of the first order. Given that he routinely slanders and seeks to humiliate celebrities, its no surprise that he rips off writers without permission. I think that you and all the other people that are getting ripped off should take a page from our idols in the MPAA, RIAA, and Microsoft and throw out lawsuits right and left at these jerks who steal your material for profit.

I think there’s a class action case to be made here at the very least. The sites that steal are the ones pumped full of advertising. The sites stolen tend not to feature a large amount of advertising.

Y’know…I’ve got a frying pan that I’m not using at the moment. If, y’know, you’d rather take your cut out of his flesh.
…
Just a thought.
